requirements

Beta Alpha Psi - Iota Tau has 3 tiers of membership. Be sure to read requirements for each and email Professor Shannon Shumate for Questions. Once you complete 1 Semester as Candidate, you become a BAP Lifetime Member. After you complete 1 Semester as Candidate & 1 Semester as Member, you will receive a BAP graduation cord. Further involvement in semesters after the 2-semester completion will not count but is still necessary.  

Requirements for Members & Candidates: 

1. Institutional GPA of 3.0 or higher 
2. Major GPA (ACCT, FIN, IS) of 3.0 or higher beyond Business Course 
3. Completed ACCT 3100, FIN 3100, or IS 3100 (dependent on major) 
4. Completion of 6 hours of Community Service (CS) & 8 hours of Professional Development (PD) per semester 
5. Must commit to 1 Semester as Candidate & 1 Semester as Member 

        How to Join as Member:   

1. Be initiated as a Member after Candidate Semester Completion 
2. Register as a Member 
3. Pay Member dues ($52) via PayPal or ($50) via Zelle 
4. Send your Degree Works transcript to Professor Shannon Shumate for GPA verification (sshumat2@kennesaw.edu) 
5. Attend the meetings to meet acquire 6 CS and 8 PD

        How to Join as Candidate: 

1. Register as a Candidate 
2. Pay Candidate dues ($115) via PayPal or ($110) Zelle 
3. Send your Degree Works transcript to Professor Shannon Shumate for GPA Verification (sshumat2@kennesaw.edu) 
4. Attend the meetings to meet acquire 6 CS and 8 PD 

Don’t Meet the Requirements? Join as FBIS: 

1. No Completion of 3100 Necessary 
2. No Participation Requirements, but we encourage 2 hours CS and 4 hours of PD 
3. No Grade Requirements 

 You will have access to most all events, but the semester you are FBIS will not be counted towards PD or CS Requirements of future semesters or obtaining a BAP Graduation Cord.  

Member On-Leave? 

1. Register as an on-leave member if you are participating in an internship 
2. Send your Degree Works transcript to Professor Shannon Shumate for GPA Verification (sshumat2@kennesaw.edu)
